As you prepare to leave this year and start the next it is useful to reflect:
- What went well?
- What didn’t?
- What goals were achieved?
- What are still outstanding?
- Are you on target for your business and life goals?
Given the above, to make 2018 a fantastic year for you,
given that this is a time of endings and beginnings, what do you want to:
- Stop doing?
- Start doing?
- Continue doing?
If you took 2 minutes to do this exercise, it probably won’t serve you as well as it could. So, put the kettle on, have yourself a coffee, and really reflect on those habits, actions and strategies that no longer serve or that will be good to acquire. As the saying goes, life is not a dress rehearsal and there is nothing like a new year to create real change.
It was Abraham Lincoln who said, “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” What goals do you want to set yourself for next year, remembering they need to be SMART:
Specific (vague goals make vague outcomes)
Measurable (how will you know you have achieved it?)
Achievable (stretching but feasible makes for a great sense of achievement and progress)
Relevant (they have to be relevant to your life purpose)
Time-bound (having a time limit attached to it.
